My Story

​

 I have always had a love of old things, especially textiles and toys.

In the 1990’s I designed and made artist teddy bears under the name “Willow Bears”. I supplied several specialist shops and attended many of the major bear fairs across the country.

In 1998 I opened “The Old Playroom” - a collectable toy shop situated in my local town of West Malling. This inspired me in 2004 to write and illustrate a little book of poems featuring vintage toys entitled “Poems From The Playroom”.

In 2011, after having to close the shop, I launched my “Vintage Dawn” business which allows me to combine both my vintage and crafting passions. I now source and sell a selection of pretty vintage homewares and haberdashery items alongside my range of handmade interior furnishings and accessories. You can find all of these (including my poem book and even sometimes a Willow Bear) for sale in my Etsy shop.
